With the WHR Institute summer internship program in full swing, we wanted to profile our resident content creator, Tate Warner. After graduating Laguna Beach High School in 2022, Tate was accepted to the University of St. Andrew's, Scotland where he declared a double major in English & Film Studies.

Tate Q&A:

What are some things you missed most about home?

Tate: Ultraviolet light, relatively consistent waves, and being able to wear a t-shirt or less throughout most of the year.

What inspires you?

Tate: Cartoons, strange people, music, and the stories strange people tell. And nature for sure.

What is your favorite beach utility product?

Tate: Wax. Sunglasses too. Dark, scratched glacier glasses and some Mr. Zoggs Cold to Cool Quick Humps Sex Wax.

Favorite WHR items?

Tate:

1. The classic navy promotional hat after at least 3yrs of wearing has to be my number 1 favorite. 

2. The Sling Bag is very important to me and to the goodies it holds.

3. I like to fling my camera around in the utility pouch. And a couple of other things.

4. I really love the zip-up hoodie for chilly, incognito times.

5. The long sleeve worker tees are my favorite layer to wear out in Scotland.

What are some other things that you want people to know about you?

Tate: I am prone to laughing. If I’m not laughing, I’m probably smiling.

What are some things you look forward to during your internship at WHR?

Tate: I’m looking forward to being encouraged to document my best friends surf because that’s exactly what I’ve always loved to do. For like ever. And to be backed by a brand to do so. And to be a part of that brand's identity by simply showing what me and my friends like to do with our time.
