Rivers are the great connectors. They bridge communities, create recreation opportunities, and bring people together. Many of the world’s oldest cities have emerged around rivers as these flowing life sources played a significant role in sustaining these populations.
Rivers provide fresh drinkable water, irrigation for food production and natural habitat. Rivers aided in trade and transportation, as well as energy production and industry. Flora that thrives around rivers is known to generate a cooling effect, facilitating lower air and surface temperatures by releasing moisture into the atmosphere and providing shade.
We are inspired by the push to renew major waterways to aid in the fight against global warming and improve quality of life in cities around the world. This collection highlights the movement of these waterways by featuring their unique topographical designs.
